Chaitra Navratri 2025
The first Navratri of the Hindu calendar, i.e, Chaitra Navratri, has arrived. It has been celebrated from 30th March and will conclude on 7th April 2025. It is a festival where the different forms of goddess Durga are worshipped. It is a complete nine-day festival that is celebrated for devotion, joy, enthusiasm, and immense faith towards our goddess, Durga. To get the divine blessings of powerful Maa Durga, devotees perform Pooja, Aarti, and Vrat and follow many rituals to seek her blessings.
In India, we are celebrating Chaitra Navratri from 30th March 2025. It is the Hindu Nav Varsh as well. From this day, it is believed that the new year gets started as per the Hindu calendar.
Chaitra Navratri Significance
Navratri holds a huge and deep significance in the Hindu religion. Every year, every Hindu perform this festival of enthusiasm, manifestation, joy, devotion and reflection of goddess Durga. It is believed that this festival symbolises the triumph of Goddess Durga over the devils. It is a triumph of Maa Durga over Mahishasur which is known as the win of truth and righteousness.
Every year, devotees perform a strict fast of nine days and worship goddess Durga by heart, Following all the rituals. Rituals includes Kalash sthapana, 9 days fast, Aarti, chanting Durga Chalisa etc.

Chaitra Navratri Pooja Rituals
Following are the several main rituals followed to worship Maa Durga for all nine days of Navratri.
Ghatasthapana
On the first day of Navratri, devotee install a kalash which is basically a clay pot. It is the most significant ritual of Navratri. This ritual helps us to get devine blessing of Maa Durga and attract prosperity and protection of goddess.
Chanting Specific Mantras
Each day of Navratri, after offering flowers, water, and sweets to Maa Durga, specific mantras are chanted to be connected with the presence of Maa Durga. Chanting Beej mantra, Durga Chalisha, or Durga Aarti, helps us to attract all the positive energies of goddess.
Kanya Poojan
After a long nine day fast and following the rituals of every single day, at the last day of Vrath, Kanya Pujan is performed. It is one of the most rewarding and significant act of Navratri. In this day, we offer food, gifts, and donation to 9 small girls as they are believed to be the shadow of Maa Durga. Donations are being offered to beggars and food are offered to priests.
